This policy explains what personal data DesignUplift collects, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short and in plain words.
Who we are
DesignUplift (designuplift.com) is run by Ayberk Kole, Manisa, Türkiye. Contact for anything about your data: hello@designuplift.com.
What we collect and why
Newsletter
Your email address and, if you give it, your name.
When and where you signed up, and when you confirmed your subscription. We use double opt-in: you are only added after clicking the link in our confirmation email.
Whether you open our emails and which links you click. We use this to see what readers find useful and to remove inactive addresses. Your email app may block this; that’s fine.
Technical delivery information, such as bounced emails and spam complaints, so we stop emailing addresses that don’t work or don’t want our emails.
Why: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email.
Submit a project form
Your name, email, company, city and country, social profile, and the project details and links you send us.
Why: to review your submission and, if selected, to publish the project with credit. If you tick the newsletter box on this form, you also get our confirmation email for the newsletter.
Emails you send us
Your message and email address, to reply to you.
Website visits
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read, using cookies. It records pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location (country or city). We don’t use it to identify you.
Our website runs on Framer, which also keeps basic, privacy-friendly visit statistics.
Some pages show YouTube or Vimeo videos. These services may set their own cookies when you play a video.
We never sell your data, and we never add you to a list you didn’t sign up for.
Who helps us
We use a few services to run DesignUplift. They only process your data on our behalf:
Listmonk, our newsletter software, runs on our own server at Hetzner in Germany.
Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES, Stockholm, Sweden) delivers our emails.
Google Workspace handles our email inbox.
Google Analytics measures website visits.
Framer hosts our website and its forms.
Make passes newsletter sign-ups from our website to our newsletter system.
beehiiv: our previous newsletter platform, used until we finish moving to our own system.
Some of these companies are based outside Türkiye and the EU (for example in the United States). Where data leaves the EU or Türkiye, they protect it with the safeguards the law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Newsletter: as long as you are subscribed. If you don’t open or click any email for a long time, we ask whether you still want it and remove you if you don’t answer.
When you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a “do not email” list, so we never email you again by mistake. Ask us and we delete it completely.
Project submissions: as long as needed to review and publish them.
Website statistics: Google Analytics keeps them for 14 months.
Your rights
You can ask us to show, correct, export or delete your data, or to stop using it. For the newsletter you can do most of this yourself: every email has a link to unsubscribe and to manage your subscription, where you can also download or erase your data. For anything else, email hello@designuplift.com and we’ll answer within 30 days.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) or, if you live in the EU, to your local data protection authority.
Children
DesignUplift is not meant for children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. Big changes are announced in the newsletter.
