Figma just introduced three new AI-powered image editing tools, and they make everyday design work a lot simpler. If you work on product shots, marketing visuals, or concept layouts, these updates will save you real time.

The new tools are:

Erase object

You can lasso anything in an image and remove it cleanly. No need to jump into another app to hide a cable, a messy background, or an unwanted object.

Isolate object

This lets you pick one element in a photo and move it, recolor it, or adjust lighting without touching the background. It’s great for tweaking product highlights or repositioning elements in a scene.

Expand image

This fills the empty space when you change an image’s aspect ratio. Turning a square product photo into a website banner or mobile header becomes a one-click job. The background extends naturally without stretching.

All three tools sit inside a new image editing toolbar that also brings together existing features like Crop, Remove Background, and AI editing prompts. The idea is simple: keep designers inside Figma instead of jumping between external apps.

These updates are available in Figma Design and Figma Draw for users with a Full seat on Professional, Organization, or Enterprise plans.
