Steam Controller was introduced with a wireless puck that acted as both transmitter and magnetic charging dock. Magnetic thumbsticks with TMR sensors were added for improved control and capacitive touch. High-definition rumble and a new grip-enabled gyro input were included for more precise aiming. Trackpads, back buttons, and standard controls were kept for flexibility. Full Steam Input support was provided, allowing custom layouts and community profiles. Compatibility was ensured with PCs, Steam Deck, Steam Machine, and Steam Frame.
