Christie's Rostrum

Christie's Rostrum

A new auction rostrum for Christie’s was unveiled for the institution’s 260th anniversary. It was designed by Sir Jony Ive and the LoveFrom team and presented at the King Street headquarters in London. The handmade structure was crafted from sustainably sourced oak over 200 years old. The design was developed through research into Christie’s historic rostrums and adapted for modern auctions and global livestream audiences. Fabrication was carried out with furniture maker Benchmark. The object was designed to elevate the auctioneer while emphasizing craft, materials, and long-term durability.
